The Houston Dynamo haven't exactly been big players in the Designated Player market. While Thursday's signing of Honduran international Oscar Boniek Garcia won't make a huge impact on the ticket sales, it is a sign that they are willing to spend some money.

The right-sided midfielder is not a glamorous signing, but the Dynamo apparently paid for a full transfer. Still, he'll only hit the salary budget at $175,000 as he'll be a midseason signing and not be eligible to play until after June 27.

"Oscar is a good player and I have always liked him," Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear said in a statement. "He is a versatile midfielder and a good athlete and should do well for us. He is a good signing for us and the league."

Garcia is more of a playmaker than a scorer, but should help provide some balance to the Dynamo attack. The Dynamo are currently very left-side oriented, with much of the offense running through Brad Davis. The right side has been a bit of a revolving door at midfield, with three players receiving at least three starts.

For more on the signing, be sure to check out Dynamo Theory.

Paul Inces Blackburn Rovers established their place as this seasons Right Result regulars with their sixth and seventh incidents of the new campaign in Saturdays draw with Middlesbrough.

Visiting forward Tuncay will be rueing his luck as his spectacular goal first-half was wrongly disallowed for offside.

Shortly afterwards, the whistle of fortune blew (or didnt, as the case may be) in Boros favour when defender Andrew Taylor wasnt penalised when he punched clear a Rovers cross in his own area.

THE RIGHT RESULT = Blackburn 2-2 Middlesbrough

With almost a quarter of the season gone, the Right Result table is now beginning to take interesting shape, much to the pleasure of followers of one North London team. if not the other.

According to the Right Result table, Arsenal should be equal on points with Liverpool at the top of the table and ahead on goal difference with Chelsea falling to 4th place. Newcastle too should be much farther up the table (11th) than their current position suggests (19th), although in Tottenhams case the table does not lie they are bottom of the pile.

See the full Right Result table here. To learn more about Right Result and to follow it every week, click here.

If you think the officials got a decision wrong on the weekend, something that would have resulted in a goal or prevented one, let us know in the comments below.

Ten games into the Premier League season and all three of the new boys are in the top half. Theyve all grabbed some famous wins; Blackpool won at Anfield, West Brom turned over Arsenal at the Emirates while Newcastle destroyed fierce rivals Sunderland.

I will accept right away that this article is a touch premature. As Ian Holloway himself said, Blackpool may not get another point this season. But so far, all these sides are making the pre-season predictions look ridiculous.

The performance of the newly-promoted sides will always say something about the quality of football in the Championship. So far, these teams arent just winning; they are doing it with bold attacking football. Its a good advert for what the Championship, at its best, is all about.

Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli is without doubt one of the most interesting, but controversial players in the current game. Flashes of brilliance for the Etihad Stadium outfit, Inter and Italy testify to the 21-year-olds ability, but scandal and strange off-field behaviour have never been too far away in the attackers short career to date. Currently suspended by the FA for kicking out at Tottenhams Scott Parker, here is the flamboyant forwards rap sheet:
Born to Ghanian parents Thomas and Rose Barwuah, Balotelli had a life-threatening intestinal illness as a child that he survived. Taken into the care of Francesco and Silvia Balotelli at the age of three, Balotelli accused his biological parents of glory hunting when they tried to make contact with him after he became a professional footballer.Signed for Inter back in 2006 from Serie C side Lumezzane, Balotelli had a trial at Barcelona at the age of 15 but did not make the grade.Made 59 appearances for Inter, scoring 20 goals. Won three Serie A championships, one Coppa Italia, one Supercoppa Italiana and the Champions League in 2009-10.Infuriated Inter fans when he wore an AC Milan shirt in a television interview, was reportedly seen shopping in the AC Milan superstore, and his numerous fallings out with Jose Mourinho blighted his time at the San Siro.Moved to Manchester City in August 2010 for a fee of ??24?million, following Roberto Mancini to England.Mad Mario has been involved in a raft of motoring incidents; he has been fined ??10,000 in parking fines during his time in the United Kingdom, has had his car impounded 27 times and crashed his Maserati sports car within days of having it imported from Italy. Turned the backyard of his English mansion into a quad bike track.Balotelli is not shy when it comes to flashing the cash; when pulled over police the striker had ??5000 in his wallet. When asked why he was carrying so much money by the police officer he replied: Because I am rich. In December 2011 he dressed up as Santa and handed out money on the streets of Manchester; the same month Balotelli also donated ??200 to his local church, before paying for a ??1000 round in a bar the same day.Disciplinary matters have blighted his career Balotelli has been sent off against West Brom, Dinamo Kiev and Liverpool. Fined ??100,000 for throwing a dart at a City youth player.Let off fireworks in his house the night before a Manchester derby, before becoming an ambassador for firework safety. Broke a curfew before a game against Chelsea to go to a local curry house, where he was involved in a mock sword-fight using rolling pins.Scored in the said Manchester derby and unveiled a t-shirt with Why Always Me? on it; City went on to win 6-1 at Old Trafford.Has been involved in training ground bust-ups with Vincent Kompany, Jerome Boateng, Carlos Tevez and most recently Micah Richards. After City won the FA Cup in 2011, Balotelli said: This season I have been s***. Can I say that?, on live television. After he won the European Golden Boy trophy in 2010, Balotelli claimed to have never heard of runner up Jack Wilshere and stated that Lionel Messi was the only player in the world better than him.Incensed Roberto Mancini by trying an audacious pirouette finish when through on goal in friendly match against LA Galaxy in the United States; was instantly substituted.Made his international debut against Ivory Coast in August 2010. Was spotted using his iPad on the Italy bench in a game against the Faroe Islands. Was summoned in September 2011 to give evidence in a high-profile Mafia court case in Italy.
And finally, there was this:

Super Mario is becoming an ever-more important member of Manchester Citys squad, and his talent in undeniable. On the international scene, he seems to be in Cesare Prandelli??s preferences currently, and is set to star for Italy at Euro 2012 this summer. However, most football fans are captivated by the Italians unorthodox behaviour away from the game, with the above list set to grow in years to come.

Chelsea have confirmed their home game with Fulham on Boxing Day will go ahead as planned, despite the possibility of industrial action by Tube drivers.

The start of legal action aimed at halting the strike - which could affect several sporting fixtures - in a row over pay was delayed at the High Court on Wednesday. London Underground (LU) is challenging the validity of the strike called by the Aslef union's leadership over its claims for additional Boxing Day pay.

A hearing had been set for 10:30am at the High Court in London but was rescheduled for 2pm.
Bernd Schuster believes Real Madrid will need to give more power to their coaches if they want to bring in big names.

With presidential elections taking place at the Spanish giants this summer and current coach Juande Ramos only handed a six-month contract after replacing Schuster in December, speculation is mounting about who will be in charge at the Bernabeu next season.

Carlo Ancelotti, Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho and Rafael Benitez have all been among those linked to the post in recent times, while Ramos must also be considered a contender after guiding Madrid to 14 wins in 16 league games since taking the reins.

Schuster's own tip for the position would be Arsenal boss Wenger, but the German believes the Frenchman - like other coaches - could be put off by not having complete control over transfers, with Madrid employing a sporting director to oversee that.

Schuster himself has revealed his frustrations at Madrid not signing any of the players he wanted last summer, with the club preferring to concentrate their efforts on trying to bring in Cristiano Ronaldo.

In the second part of an interview with Spanish newspaper Marca today, Schuster was asked who he would recommend as coach if former Madrid president Florentino Perez returned to the helm this summer, and the German admitted: "That's very difficult.

"When a big coach is not given control over all the areas we've been talking about, it is going to be very difficult. Now we are talking about someone who I cannot imagine will come."

Asked if that person was Wenger, Schuster said: "Of course. Now, if Florentino brings in a sporting director, I have doubts if he (Wenger) would accept this. In all his time at Arsenal he has been more than a coach. The same as (Sir Alex) Ferguson or Benitez. These guys are more than just coaches.

"I imagine they would say 'I make the team'. If you put a person above them it could complicate things more than help them.

"In negotiations, what's going to be their role?

"If you want to bring in a big coach, like Ancelotti, Wenger, Mourinho... why can't you give them sole control and let them get on with it?"

It could be that Madrid will not even look abroad for next season's coach, with Ramos putting forward a strong case to continue in the position.

Aside from their Champions League mauling at the hands of Liverpool and a 2-0 defeat to Barcelona in his first league game in charge, Ramos has overseen an almost perfect run and could yet guide Madrid to the Primera Division title.

An impressed Schuster said of Ramos' Madrid: "They couldn't be doing better. The team is playing more defensively, but this of course means they concede less goals.

"I don't want to compare it with my team as I don't think that would be fair, because playing just once a week you have most of your players available," added Schuster, referring to the serious injury problems he had towards the end of his reign.

"For example, I would never have imagined that being at Real Madrid I would have to go into a match with only 16 players. That's unthinkable."

Madrid's good run under Ramos means they are now six points behind leaders Barcelona heading into the final eight games of the season.

The reigning champions are outsiders to retain the title Schuster helped them win last season, but with a home match against Barca still to come there is hope yet.

However, should Madrid win their third successive league crown this season, Schuster admits he would not accept any credit for helping them on their way.

"If Real Madrid win the title it will be the work of Juande," he said.

"The important thing is to beat Barca in the Bernabeu."
